The best place!!

Right at the JR Kawayuonsen station, cosy place with reasonable prices and a tad limited options but decent food quality. Best of all, a foot bath is just on the corner (free + fun)

When we arrived the restaurant was full, but we put a name down on the wait list and it was only about 5-10 minutes later that we were called. There's a limited menu, but what we ordered (beef curry and omurice) were both delicious. The omelette in particular was beautifully light and silky. The meals were also a decent size and good value for money.

Located inside the historical JR Kawayu Onsen Station, this charming café offers mainly curry dishes and beef stew. Taste is delicious, each main dish comes with rice and small salad.Although the service was very slow (30 min+ waiting), the staff was very comforting and accommodating.Highly recommended.

A restaurant that has been renovated from the station office and guest rooms.Stained glass and chair design are nice. Old railway goods are displayed in the room.With a 1000 yen Hayashi rice salad. Careful cooking with the onion remaining crunchy and the taste is just right.I went to the Bon Festival in August and waited for 30 minutes to get to the seat and 20 minutes for the food to come out. If you do n’t have enough time, be careful.

Nice little place with a cute lady that makes excellent food

A nice cosy western style station cafe. Good place for meal to unwind as train passes by. Hamburg steak is awesome.

A cafe restaurant in JR Kawayu Station, an old-fashioned station building. There is also a footbath in the station building. Although it is usually a quiet shop, it was very crowded because the day I visited overlapped with the Bon Festival. There were 3 managers and 3 employees and 2 employees with beginners' marks. The omelet rice I ordered was very delicious with a good taste of demiglace sauce. There are not many types of menus, but it is surely a taste you can expect.

It's a hidden feeling that it's located at a station on the JR Minamihonsen line, where the number of trains is small, but you want to go there by train so much that it's worth it if you visit by train.It may be noisy when tourists go in groups, but if it is not crowded, it is a quiet and calm coffee shop. If it is 2-3 hours, waiting for the train will not be a problem.

We’ve been here twice, and in total we’ve tried the hamburger steak (original sauce and curry), beef curry, and omurice. Everything is really delicious, and 950-1100 yen. The food comes out in around 20 min. And the staff is very nice, and accommodating to English speakers. We will definitely come back!

At lunch time, I was hesitant to visit, with a rumor of writing and information magazines that crowded, but I was able to enter the store smoothly, contrary to expectations.The atmosphere of nostalgic perfection and the friendly taste of Western food using the part of the station building is worth visiting.I had omelet rice, but it was like I got beef stew meat in ketchup rice.There are also other demi-glas meats that have meat in them, but hiding them makes it a surprise and doubles the taste.I would like to have a beef stew next time.

Very nice small restaurant at a railway station. Nice music, nice personnel, simple but tasty food

It has been missed for 5 years while visiting Kawayu Onsen many times. It was finally in the rice this time.It seems that this restaurant is a refurbished one that was originally used as a stationmaster's room or a noble room.There are stained glass in the interior, a high ceiling with a high ceiling, etc. There are still many designs that reflect the past.Also, on the wall, there are also items for which enthusiasts like railway advertisements in the Showa era.And it is also wonderful that you can see train arrivals and departures from the window (depending on your luck because the number is small).Of course the food is just right, this time I ordered a limited beef stew.It was delicious that the well-simmered meat was melted away.Please come and have lunch here if you come to Kawayu Onsen.

Highly recommended!!! The food is really delicious! I ate the omurice and it's way better than the ones in Tokyo. Big serving too! The sauce is very delicious!
